General Information

The international Ph.D. in Peacebuilding aims to build the bridge between theoretical knowledge and peacebuilding operations to create new knowledge for enhancing the effectiveness and creativity of peacebuilding practices by focusing on various dimensions including religion, culture, human rights, and the development of information and technology in conflict analysis and peacebuilding. Graduates of the program will become competent peacebuilders and researchers in promoting ethical conflict resolution and peacebuilding in a global context.
The program is designed to meet the various needs of students through two study plans: a three-year program (plan 2.1) for those who desire to enrich theoretical knowledge of peacebuilding besides dissertation research; and a two-year program (plan 1.1) for those who have peace studies background and only needs to update some foundational knowledge besides their dissertation research. We provide 6 core courses for the first study plan and 3 non-credit courses for the second study plan.anguage of instruction is English.

Minimum Qualifications for application

  1. Master’s degree from Peace Studies or other fields.
  2. English test score equivalent to TOEFL (iBT) score of not less than 79. (This can be waived if the applicant is graduated from an international degree program that uses English as the main language of instruction, or can be supplemented later before the dissertation proposal examination).

  5. A dissertation proposal (for two-year Ph.D. program only. In the online application system, please attach an empty page if you apply for the three-year PhD program)

  7. Letters of recommendation (two from former college/university instructors, and one from work colleague/supervisor. In the online application system, please join the letters into one PDF file before uploading)

  9. A copy of passport profile page

Once the application documents are complete, the applicant will be scheduled a personal interview as part of the admission process.

Tuition:

The tuition package for the three-year PhD in Peacebuilding is 624,800 THB.
The tuition package for the two-year PhD in Peacebuilding is 498,600 THB.

Grading & Examination

In order to be qualified for the qualifying exam, the student must earn at least a 3.25 GPA.
